Beaches of Amelia Island

Fort Clinch Beach

A Florida State Park, Fort Clinch occupies the entire North tip of Amelia Island, offering 1000+ acres of beaches, trails, and the most gorgeous canopy road on the island. This is "My beach," and most of the shells that I use for my loot containers come from Fort Clinch. Fort Clinch is blessed with shark teeth, fossil pectens, wentletraps, and an assortment of different types of shells, sand dollars, and star fish.

Amelia State Park

Amelia Island State Park covers 200 acres down South. The park is primarily frequented by nature-lovers: Fishing is popular along the mile-long George Crady Bridge State Fishing Pier that spans the Nassau Sound, and beach-trotting horses can be rented from a stable nearby for on-beach horseback riding.

American Beach

Located on Amelia Island approximately five miles south of Fernandina Beach, this historic site is a stop on Florida's Black Heritage Trail. Though small, the beach is a historic and cultural landmark and boasts the tallest sand dune in Florida.

Big Talbot Beach

Adjacent to Amelia Island, Big Talbot doesn't technically qualify as one of our beaches, but at as it is only short bridge away, we're counting it. Big Talbot's Boneyard Beach is stunning, pristine and scattered with driftwood.

Little Talbot Beach

Little Talbot is a barrier island just below Big Talbot. It has broad, pristine white sand beaches and clean turquoise water. The entire island is a Florida state park so it's undeveloped and unspoiled.

Main Beach

Located at the junction of Atlantic and South Fletcher, Amelia Island's Main Beach is kind of...Main! Main Beach's amenities include restrooms, outdoor showers, picnic tables, benches, a playground, mini-golf, free parking, and several restaurants within walking distance.  Main Beach also has lifeguards on duty from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day and rents beach wheelchairs, all of which makes Main Beach a great family destination.

Seaside Park

Seaside Park Beach is located at the junction of Fletcher and Sadler Road. There's free parking at a small lot, a dune walkover, picnic tables, public restrooms, and lifeguard towers which are staffed Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. This beach is open to vehicles, which makes beachcombing difficult.
